The Washington Re-EDucation Association (WAREA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping educate and support other professionals in Washington state in the use of the principles and practices of Re-EDucation.
Re-EDucation is a philosophical foundation for working with troubled and troubling children first articulated by Nicholas Hobbs as early as 1960, yet still relevant, dynamic, and successful in working with children and youth today.
All trainers and consultants for WAREA have worked as front line staff with difficult and challenging children and youth.
We know how hard it can be to create success for these kids, when even they don't seem invested in learning or seeking treatment. That is one of the reasons we created WAREA, to provide support and connections for those of us doing this work.
Our trainings provide opportunities to connect with others experiencing the same struggles, share ideas, ask for help, and just plain have fun!
Got Stimulus Money? You may be able to use these funds for staff development through WAREA summer trainings, or by having training brought to your site.
